Kingscote Park

Kingscote Park is a Grade II listed Regency house near Tetbury originally an 18th-century building enlarged in the 1790s and mid-1800s. It served as the dower house to the original manor, which was held by the Kingscote family for over 800 years until 1956. In the 1820s, it was home to John Wedgwood, founder of the Royal Horticultural Society. After the original manor house was demolished in 1951, the cottage and approximately 289 acres were sold as Kingscote Park. Today, it sits within 28 acres of gardens and parkland, with Victorian stables from 1862 remaining as Grade II listed buildings.

Windmill Tump – Rodmarton Long Barrow

Windmill Tump, also known as Rodmarton Long Barrow, is an early Neolithic chambered tomb near Rodmarton, dating from 4000-3500 BC. The trapezoidal mound measures 57 metres long and features a false entrance at the eastern end. Excavations in 1863 and 1939 revealed two lateral chambers containing 13 skeletons and Neolithic arrowheads, with a third chamber discovered in 1987. Now managed by English Heritage, it represents a fine example of the Cotswold Severn type barrow.
